A few words from Camille..
I was born and raised within the beautiful unceded territory of the Syilx people, otherwise known as the Okanagan Valley. I graduated from Thompson Rivers University with a Bachelor in Social Work degree in 2016. Since then, I have been helping children, youth, adults and families in the Thompson-Okanagan region. I have worked in various roles with many vulnerable populations including people experiencing homelessness, concurrent mental health disorders, substance use disorders, job loss, intimate partner violence, and child abuse.
In 2019, I became a mom. My pregnancy, delivery and postpartum journey was transformative and challenging. It ignited a passion to help other new parents navigate their mental wellness. I now have specialized training in perinatal mental health through the Seleni Institute.
My approach to counselling is always compassionate, non-judgemental, collaborative, and anti-oppressive. During our time together, I will pull from various counselling modalities including cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), solutions-based therapy, and mindfulness-based therapy, depending on what works best for you. My goal is to build a positive therapeutic relationship, to help you feel empowered through the therapeutic process and to assist you in acquiring practical strategies related to your concerns.
